Please join us at the following events to learn more about CFBISD’s Career and Technical Education offerings.

R. L. Turner High School CTE Open House - Jan. 11
Incoming and current high school students are invited to R. L. Turner High School's Career and Technical Education (CTE) Open House on Jan. 11 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the small gym to learn more about each CTE program of study and to speak with CTE teachers.

CTE programs at Turner HS include automotive, welding, health science, veterinary, STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), cosmetology, and audio/video (A/V) technology communications.

Ranchview High School Culinary Art’s Open House at Nancy Watten Technology & Event Center - Jan. 19
Please join us for the Ranchview High School Culinary Arts program's Cafe Open House on Thursday, Jan. 19, from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. The open house is a come and go event at the Nancy Watten Technology and Event Center located at 455 E. La Villita Blvd. in Irving. Light snacks and sips will be prepared and served by the Ranchview Culinary Arts students.

Newman Smith High School CTE and Faculty Open House - Jan. 23
Incoming and current high school students are invited to Newman Smith High School’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Faculty Open House on Jan. 23 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. to learn more about each CTE program of study, meet the faculty and staff, and see the school’s recent renovations. Newman Smith HS is the CFBISD Hub for Business and Industry and hosts multiple programs of study including business, marketing, computer science, robotics, construction (management and carpentry), cybersecurity, interior design, architecture, HVAC, and publication pathways. Newman Smith HS is also the home of the International Business Academy, the NAF Academy of Innovation powered by Raytheon Industries, and The Construction and Architecture P-Tech (CAP-TECH) Academy of Building and Design. Attendees can also visit with the fine arts and athletic departments.

Ranchview High School Open House - Feb. 8
Incoming and current high school students are invited to Ranchview High School's Open House on Feb. 8 from 5-7 p.m. for information about Career and Technical Education (CTE), tours, live demonstrations, presentations, drawings and more. Ranchview High School programs include the Information Technology Academy (web development, networking systems, IT support and services), STEM: cybersecurity, culinary arts, plant science (floral design and greenhouse - farm to table), hospitality (lodging and resort management and travel, tourism and attractions), and AVID.
