Ranchview Swimmers Make Waves at Regionals, Qualify for State Championship
RHS Swim Team

This past weekend, the Ranchview swim team showed up and showed out at the Regional Championships in Frisco, delivering an unforgettable performance fueled by grit, focus, and heart. Despite limited practice time, Ranchview athletes rose to the occasion and earned a coveted berth at the UIL State Swimming & Diving Championships, set for February 12–13 in San Antonio.

For the fourth time, the Ranchview boys’ team is headed to State after a clutch, last-minute call-up in the 200 Free Relay. Aaron Butler, Asher Odiong, Daniel Kim, Liam Moser, and Renad Samy threw down a season-best performance, finishing 3rd at Regionals to punch their ticket to the biggest stage in Texas high school swimming.

The Ranchview girls made their presence known as well. Elizabeth Bell led the way with an automatic State qualification after an outstanding 2nd-place finish in the 100 Breaststroke, then secured an additional State spot by placing 3rd in the 100 Butterfly. Bell will be joined at State by Rose Dowell, Victoria Tam, Summer Huddleston, and Stephanie Baizabal, who qualified in both the 200 Medley Relay and the 200 Free Relay.

Serving as alternates for the State meet are Sophie Baizabal, Jayden White, and Iliana Achouche, whose hard work and dedication played an important role in the team’s success.

Congratulations to all of these athletes for earning their place at the UIL State Championships. Ranchview is proud of your determination and resilience, and we wish you the best of luck as you represent the Wolves on the state stage!
